Back to the Unknown: Over the Garden Wall Tribute Show, Concert, & Signing

“Back to the Unknown” was one of many events I planned with various studios during my time at Gallery Nucleus. I had pitched early in my time with Nucleus that we could potentially organize a fan event for Over the Garden Wall’s 10th anniversary; it was an incredibly beloved property with a very loyal fanbase and little merchandise available, so I knew it would be a perfect fit for Nucleus.

I approached the show’s creator Patrick McHale with a pitch for a fan event and print launch. Together, we organized promotional and licensing details with Cartoon Network. We also expanded the event to also feature a concert from the show’s composers, The Blasting Company.

Though originally the event was planned to be an in-person only event, I campaigned to have us stream to Twitch as well. I knew there was a large fanbase for the show that was not entirely based in Los Angeles, and that the community event we could create online would also drive traffic to the Gallery Nucleus webstore. I managed AV for the livestream during the concert, which several thousand fans watched.

For this event, I also worked 11 artists from around the world who create fan merchandie for Over the Garden Wall. To showcase all of their work and to make the buying experience for customers simpler, I designed a merchandise menu, which was hung in various strategic locations in the Gallery Nucleus bookstore.
